About us
We first opened our doors in Cheriton Place 23 years ago in 1988. The practice outgrew the original premises. A larger building became available across the road and this has been the home of Chris Adams Opticians of Folkestone ever since. The practice is wheelchair friendly and close to the local shopping centre and transport facilities.
We have two consulting rooms and uniquely for Folkestone, a workshop on the premises. 99% of spectacles are made within the practice which significantly reduces the time it takes to supply them to you.
When you purchase a new pair of specs from us you don’t see all that is included with your new specs.
Dispensing Optician
Our dispensing opticians will help you choose the perfect frame and to select the lenses that will best match your visual requirements.
They will fit and adjust your spectacles to ensure the best possible vision and maximum comfort. They also manufacture your new spectacles in our on site laboratory and are on hand to provide expert advice on frames, lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses etc
Optometrist
Trained professionals who examine eyes, test sight, give advice on visual problems, and prescribe and dispense spectacles or contact lenses
Opthalmic Medical Practitioner
Registered medical practitioner in the UK with a qualification in ophthalmology who is employed to carry out medical eye examinations and prescribe glasses, contact lenses, eyepatches and other orthoptic treatment.
